Project WISE (Wisconsin Initiative for Student Empowerment)
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH) announces the availability of funds for Project WISE (Wisconsin Initiative for Student Empowerment), funded by the Wisconsin Title V State Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) grant.
Across the nation, the Title V SRAE Program funds states and territories to implement education exclusively on sexual risk avoidance that teaches youth to voluntarily refrain from sexual activity. Programs teach youth personal responsibility, self-regulation, goal setting, healthy decision-making, a focus on the future, and the prevention of youth risk behaviors such as drug and alcohol use without normalizing teen sexual activity. Title V State SRAE projects are implemented using a Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework.
DHS is requesting applications for implementation of educational programs primarily in after-school program settings, though in-school settings are also acceptable.
